This serious little sweetheart is turning one and I had the pleasure of documenting the milestone. There is one image in the gallery above - the close-up of her fingers twisted in the blanket – that is among my favorite images in recent memory. It’s one of those things that any parent can understand – this is her special blanket and she loves to poke her fingers through the holes and hold on tight. I feel that, combined with her and her bottle in the background, this image completely tells the story of this time in her life. It’s an image that will only become more special as she grows.

So, about three years ago I photographed Jake and Kathleen’s wedding on a wicked hot, July day. Fast forward three years and these two have a ridiculously pretty little girl named Violet whom I got to photograph on another crazy hot afternoon. I had the great pleasure of hanging around with them for a bit and got to know this newest little addition. I love her serious little face as much as her happy, delighted face – and we got both of them. Take a minute with a few of my favorites…

She also had a mind of her own – I love this outtake from the session. Violet would not stay put at all. Ever. I love the expression on her parents face as she, once again, crawls off immediately once she’s let go. Good times!! Don’t worry parents, if your child acts like this, just know that they all do at this age and it only gets worse. ;)

It’s awesome! :)

My family headed out to Vintage Days on the Fresno State campus this past weekend. We had a great time and I shot a few frames while we sat and had lunch. I’m particularly fond of this one, I thought I would share. :)
