Kaitlin is the sister of Kendall who’s wedding I photographed a couple years ago (you can see Kendall and Ryan’s wedding in the featured wedding gallery section of this site) so when Chas called and asked if I was willing to travel over to Carmel Valley to photograph their wedding, it was an easy “YES!” The view from Holman Ranch is absolutely stunning and the detailed, stone construction of the buildings was amazing. It’s easily become one my favorite venues to work in – I can only hope someone else will invite me over in the future. Enjoy the gallery of my favorite images from the day…

Brianne and Andrew | Carmel Mission, Cardella Winery Wedding | Carmel and Mendota, CA

A small “wedding photographer” dream of mine has been to shoot a wedding at the Carmel Mission in Carmel, CA. Being from Fresno, I didn’t think that it was all that likely that I would ever get the opportunity though. Then Brianne called me. Brianne was a bridesmaid in another wedding I shot a couple years ago, and when she told me she was getting married at the Mission, I could barely contain my excitement! Fast forward to a couple months before her wedding when she called to let me know her reception location had changed to the Cardella Winery in Mendota, and yes, it was still following the wedding. So that brings me to the most miles travelled on one day while shooting a wedding – starting the morning in Carmel at the hotel, going to a ceremony at the amazing Carmel Mission, followed by a long drive to Mendota to shoot at the fabulous Cardella Winery. I should also point out that the Cardella Winery is one of the few reception locations that can hold it’s own following a ceremony at a site as beautiful and rich with history as the Carmel Mission. I met Sally and Tim in Carmel for their engagement session at a small coastal nature preserve near Carmel, CA. We were blessed with some uniquely interesting skies that lent a very different vibe to a location that I have visited many times. Nothing better than hanging by the ocean with a great couple for an afternoon – even if they are Dodger fans!
