Any wedding day in Yosemite is bound to be a beautiful one, and this day certainly didn’t disappoint! Weekday weddings in the park are great as even in the summertime the crowds are smaller and it’s pretty easy to get around the valley floor. Daniel and Yi-Hsing are new residents of New York by way of Japan, and on the way they had a little wedding under the apple tree on the Ahwahnee Hotel’s Wedding Lawn. This time around I returned to beautiful Wolf Lakes Park for Mandy and Jon’s wedding. It was a beautiful day on an unseasonably cool Memorial Day weekend. Mandy made sure she put her own personal stamp on the park with lots of little details, many of them handmade by her. It was tough to narrow all the great images down for this post, but I managed! I knew I had visited an old courthouse at Millerton Lake as a kid on a field trip, but I didn’t exactly remember where it was, but when it came time to find a spot for Stephanie and Jon’s session I decided it was time I did a little serious looking. It wasn’t really that hard to find, just took a little drive up to the lake and I found it of course. Along the way we shot at a bunch of great little spots on the south side of Millerton.

As is customary this time of year, I’ve been spending A LOT of time up in the hills. This session is a little old, back before everything turned brown, but it’s a great look at this special time of year. This couple just asked for a quick engagement session ahead of their wedding this summer at Lake Tahoe. They already had one session, but their dog wasn’t able to participate so we we met in a vacant field in the middle of Fresno and made some great images – he was an incredibly sweet dog!

Maritess and Norman held their wedding at the gorgeous combination of St. Anthony’s in Fresno for their ceremony, and the unparalleled Garden pavilion at Wolf Lakes Park in Sanger, CA. The amazing flowers were done by Mariah at Simply Flowers and they were a perfect compliment to Maritess and Norman’s wedding. We took advantage of the beautiful spring bloom for Julie and Johnny’s engagement session. We headed over to the north side of Millerton Lake, an area full of huge, stately oak trees and wild grasses. Take a look at a few of my favorite images from the session.

Catherine and Hawk – Engagement Session from the Ranch

Catherine and Hawk booked me for their wedding coming up in October in Oakhurst a few weeks ago and asked me if it was okay if we included some of their animals in their engagement session. ”Sure” I said, “What kind of animals are we talking about?”. They replied “Oh, a couple dogs, some sheep, horses, a zebra…”. ”Huh? Did you say zebra? You totally should have lead with that!” So here it is, a very cool couple and a bunch of the most laid back, cool animals I’ve met – except for the goat that head-butted me in the rear and gave me attitude – see him in image 9. :)
