Maritza and Ben were married at Our Lady of Perpetual Help followed by a gorgeous reception at Wolf Lakes Park in the Garden Pavilion. The threat of rain never came, but it did deliver an amazing sky for their portrait session – added a whole new dimension that we don’t get often here in the valley. Enjoy the slideshow!

Oh yeah, middle of August, the Central Valley, outdoor wedding…you know where this is going, right? So it was hot, really hot, but Jennifer and Norman are two incredibly good natured people and a little heat wasn’t going to stop them from having a blast. We didn’t spend as much time running around the park as we might on a cooler day, but from what I could tell everyone had a fabulous time! And check out that adorable little flower girl – I might have overdone it a little with pictures of her. Take look at a few of my favorites from the day, and enjoy!

Straight to you from a hot July day in the Central Valley, here’s Jenni and Scott’s wedding! Fig Garden Swim and Racquet Club is hands down one of my favorite local venues. It’s not as sprawling as some, like Wolf Lakes or Holland Park West, but what it lacks in spaciousness, it makes up for in vibe. It’s really the closest you can get to having a “backyard wedding” without actually using a backyard. On top of that, this particular backyard can hold a few hundred of your closest family and friends. Anyway, enough about all that, take a minute and look up above at some of my favorite images from the day…

Erika and Craig | Ranch Wedding | Madera, CA

Erika and Craig are one of those couples that are just a joy to photograph. Erika is a complete ham and just seems to be having an amazing time ALL the time and Craig is just this laid back guy totally happy to be along for the ride. It was a nice warm day that wasn’t nearly as hot as it was supposed to be, with some great light just in time for the couple’s portraits, and we just made it in time for a really cool portrait at dusk just before we lost all the color in the sky. And then there was the dance floor…I can’t really put that into words, you’ll have to look at the pictures. Enjoy!

Michelle and Justin | White Horse Inn Wedding | Three Rivers, CA

Michelle and Justin were married next to the Kaweah River in Three Rivers, CA. The river was just raging from all the snow melt on this warm summer day. Michelle and Justin are friends of another couple who I photographed a couple years ago and it was great to seem them again. The White Horse Inn is a truly unique venue, I don’t think there’s as much “green” anywhere else, it’s a beautiful property for sure! Here are a few of my favorite images from the day…enjoy!

Brie and Adrian were married on the front lawn of Brie’s Grandmother’s beautiful home in Fresno, CA with a great, high-energy reception following in the backyard. There were tons of great DIY touches all over that put Brie’s personal taste on display for everyone in attendance. The tasty dinner was followed by lots of great dancing led by the cute little flower girls and Grandpa! Take a minute and look through a few of my favorites from the day.

Kaitlin and Chas | Holman Ranch Wedding | Carmel Valley, CA

Kaitlin is the sister of Kendall who’s wedding I photographed a couple years ago (you can see Kendall and Ryan’s wedding in the featured wedding gallery section of this site) so when Chas called and asked if I was willing to travel over to Carmel Valley to photograph their wedding, it was an easy “YES!” The view from Holman Ranch is absolutely stunning and the detailed, stone construction of the buildings was amazing. It’s easily become one my favorite venues to work in – I can only hope someone else will invite me over in the future. Enjoy the gallery of my favorite images from the day…

Mandy and Jon | Wolf Lakes Wedding | Sanger, CA

This time around I returned to beautiful Wolf Lakes Park for Mandy and Jon’s wedding. It was a beautiful day on an unseasonably cool Memorial Day weekend. Mandy made sure she put her own personal stamp on the park with lots of little details, many of them handmade by her. It was tough to narrow all the great images down for this post, but I managed! Maritess and Norman held their wedding at the gorgeous combination of St. Anthony’s in Fresno for their ceremony, and the unparalleled Garden pavilion at Wolf Lakes Park in Sanger, CA. The amazing flowers were done by Mariah at Simply Flowers and they were a perfect compliment to Maritess and Norman’s wedding. Kayla and Nick | A Koetsier Ranch Wedding | Visalia, CA

I have to say, it was a real pleasure to hang out with these two and shoot their wedding. Kayla and Nick are just a couple of cool, down to earth people just full of enthusiasm to be finally having their “real” wedding. There were lots of homemade touches, and that along with the small, intimate group of friends and family making up the guest list, really just made everything very warm and personal. To top it off, they chose a great venue that has all the vibe of a backyard wedding, with the amenities of a full catering service on site. If you’re looking for a great outdoor venue (with a pretty decent “plan b” if it rains), you should look down the road to Koetsier Ranch outside Visalia. Enjoy a few of my favorites from the day.
