Maritza and Ben were married at Our Lady of Perpetual Help followed by a gorgeous reception at Wolf Lakes Park in the Garden Pavilion. The threat of rain never came, but it did deliver an amazing sky for their portrait session – added a whole new dimension that we don’t get often here in the valley. Enjoy the slideshow!

Fall Portrait Event – Two Days Only!

It’s that time of year again! The air is getting crispy, the leaves are about to change color, and those holiday cards need to be sent. So, Mark Janzen Photography is offering a very limited opportunity to a few lucky families!

Due to an extraordinarily busy fall already on the books, there will only be 2 dates offered this year. On the afternoon of October 29th we will have a full slate of sessions with an urban feel in downtown Fresno. Then the very next day, we’ll have a full run of sessions at the beautiful Woodward Park taking advantage (hopefully) of some great fall color. Sessions on Sunday will run all day with several sessions in the morning and a few more in the afternoon.

As with all Portrait Events, the sessions run about 20 minutes and are limited to a single family. These sessions are perfect for small children with those short little attention spans! You will place your order at an in-studio ordering session in the weeks following the event. The cost of the session is $50+tax and prints, albums, cards, digital files, etc are all offered on an a la carte basis.

Any wedding day in Yosemite is bound to be a beautiful one, and this day certainly didn’t disappoint! Weekday weddings in the park are great as even in the summertime the crowds are smaller and it’s pretty easy to get around the valley floor. Daniel and Yi-Hsing are new residents of New York by way of Japan, and on the way they had a little wedding under the apple tree on the Ahwahnee Hotel’s Wedding Lawn. Kristen and Spenser | Falkner Winery Wedding | Temecula, CA

Kristen and Spenser are from Fresno and Oklahoma respectively but they met down in Riverside so when they decided to get married, they landed on the beautiful Falkner Winery in nearby Temecula, CA. I don’t travel often for weddings, but I love the opportunity to do so a few times each year to break up the regular flow of local weddings and this wedding certainly disappoint. We were blessed with a beautiful day, just a touch on the windy side, but the light was amazing and it wasn’t too hot or too cold which is really all you can ask for in late June. Take a minute and look through some of my favorite images from the day.

Kaitlin and Chas | Holman Ranch Wedding | Carmel Valley, CA

Kaitlin is the sister of Kendall who’s wedding I photographed a couple years ago (you can see Kendall and Ryan’s wedding in the featured wedding gallery section of this site) so when Chas called and asked if I was willing to travel over to Carmel Valley to photograph their wedding, it was an easy “YES!” The view from Holman Ranch is absolutely stunning and the detailed, stone construction of the buildings was amazing. It’s easily become one my favorite venues to work in – I can only hope someone else will invite me over in the future. Enjoy the gallery of my favorite images from the day…
