For Lauren and Kenny’s engagement session we made another trip to Millerton Lake, but this time around we started in an area I have never used. It was fun finding new places in a location that I have used a lot in the past! I can hardly wait for their wedding next year when I get to return to the Carmel Mission and make my first trip to the beautiful Carmel Valley Ranch to photograph their wedding.

Actually, this is a little combo engagement session/family session. Cassie is bringing an adorable little girl to her and Daniels marriage in a few months so we used the opportunity to get some new family portraits in while shooting their engagement session. For Amanda and Ryan’s engagement session we cruised up to Lost Lake park on the San Joaquin River for a quick session for their Save the Date cards. We got some great light and some cool moments between these two – I’m looking forward to shooting their wedding in April!

Erika and Craig | Ranch Wedding | Madera, CA

Erika and Craig are one of those couples that are just a joy to photograph. Erika is a complete ham and just seems to be having an amazing time ALL the time and Craig is just this laid back guy totally happy to be along for the ride. It was a nice warm day that wasn’t nearly as hot as it was supposed to be, with some great light just in time for the couple’s portraits, and we just made it in time for a really cool portrait at dusk just before we lost all the color in the sky. And then there was the dance floor…I can’t really put that into words, you’ll have to look at the pictures. Enjoy!

Kaitlin is the sister of Kendall who’s wedding I photographed a couple years ago (you can see Kendall and Ryan’s wedding in the featured wedding gallery section of this site) so when Chas called and asked if I was willing to travel over to Carmel Valley to photograph their wedding, it was an easy “YES!” The view from Holman Ranch is absolutely stunning and the detailed, stone construction of the buildings was amazing. It’s easily become one my favorite venues to work in – I can only hope someone else will invite me over in the future. Enjoy the gallery of my favorite images from the day…

Kristen and Spenser are getting married in a few weeks down in Temecula, CA but they came up here a few weeks ago to take advantage of the beautiful scenery we have in the local foothills every spring.
