Jenn and Brandon’s wedding was my last Yosemite wedding of the year and it took advantage of the great fall color in Yosemite Valley. The color was absolutely spectacular and it was a joy to spend the day searching out the most vivid locations. I love these small Yosemite weddings – everyone has such an amazing time and there’s always a room full of personalities. Jenna and Kyle | Wolf Lakes Wedding | Sanger, CA

Jenna and Kyle’s wedding can only be described as an epic experience. They did something I’ve never seen before and used the entire Wolf Lakes facility for their reception with cocktails at Lakeside, dinner on the lawn beside the lake, and cake and dancing in the Garden Pavilion. Beyond all that, they were married in a ceremony in a brand new church in Lemoore which meant a long drive to and from the ceremony. Amazingly, nearly everything (aside from a small limo problem) went off without a hitch and it was an amazing day. Enjoy a few of my favorite images from the day…

Stephanie and Gabriel had their wedding back in October at the beautiful Wolf Lakes Lakeside venue. Loved having their little dogs act as ring bearers and they were super excited to run down the aisle too! Check out a few of my favorite images from the day.

Big news! After 6+ years of being the sole photographer for my studio Mark Janzen Photography, I have added a 2nd photographer to the team and he’s available now for weddings in 2012 and beyond. Craig Kohlruss is a legitimate, talented photojournalist who’s brought his unique vision and storytelling ability to the local wedding photography community. His skills, developed over the last 20+ years shooting news in Northern California and currently with our own Fresno Bee, meld perfectly with the documentary focus that Mark Janzen Photography brings to weddings. When looking at bringing on another photographer to shoot weddings for my studio, I couldn’t have imagined a better fit and I’m honored and excited to have him on board.

His highlights portfolio is cycling through up above, and below are a few links to some featured weddings shot by Craig. Stay tuned for some website updates that will bring his portfolio into this site.

Any wedding day in Yosemite is bound to be a beautiful one, and this day certainly didn’t disappoint! Weekday weddings in the park are great as even in the summertime the crowds are smaller and it’s pretty easy to get around the valley floor. Daniel and Yi-Hsing are new residents of New York by way of Japan, and on the way they had a little wedding under the apple tree on the Ahwahnee Hotel’s Wedding Lawn. Marissa and Geoff were married on a beautiful, warm day in Yosemite National Park. After getting ready and having a tea ceremony at a cabin in the Yosemite West development we all rode together down into the valley, navigating some epic summertime weekend traffic! Then it was time for the ceremony underneath the old apple tree on the Ahwahnee Hotel’s Wedding Lawn. Oh yeah, middle of August, the Central Valley, outdoor wedding…you know where this is going, right? So it was hot, really hot, but Jennifer and Norman are two incredibly good natured people and a little heat wasn’t going to stop them from having a blast. We didn’t spend as much time running around the park as we might on a cooler day, but from what I could tell everyone had a fabulous time! I have a pretty cool job, for sure, but its coolness reaches a whole new level when I get to “work” in Yosemite. It’s still unreal to me when I arrive that I’m so fortunate to be trusted with photographing a couple’s wedding and to top it off I get to do it in one of the most breathtaking places on Earth.
