Amy and Aaron – A Fall Wolf Lakes Wedding

Amy and Aaron were married on a strikingly beautiful fall day at Wolf Lakes this weekend. This is the first opportunity I’ve had to photograph Wolf Lakes in the fall, and it didn’t disappoint. The colors were simply otherworldly. Below are a few of my favorite images, led off by a highlight slideshow.

Dara + Rich – A Wolf Lakes Engagement Session

Dara and Rich are getting a HUGE headstart on their wedding planning having already secured Wolf Lakes (Lakeside) and myself for their wedding in April of 2011. Since they are getting married at Wolf Lakes, they also get access for their engagement session, so that’s where we went. Take a look at a few of my favorites…

Emily + Adam – A Wolf Lakes Wedding

In a strange little time warp, Emily contacted me to see about me photographing her wedding. So, as usual, I invited her over and she brought her fiancee Adam and his parents. Through the whole meeting I kept thinking his parents looked familiar. Finally at the end, Adam’s dad said the same thing and we quickly realized that we knew each other from some 20 odd years before. We had all gone to the same church when I was 10 or 11 and Adam was just a toddler – the little brother of my friends (at the time) Andrew and Matt. It was a great wedding with the added plus of getting to catch up with a great family from my past.

Oh, and to Polly and Matt – here is the photographic evidence, you catchers of the bouquet and garter…

Cari + Eli – My 100th Wedding, Coming to You From Beautiful Wolf Lakes Park and the Chapel at People’s Church

Of course, EVERY wedding I photograph is special as for most couples it’s a defining moment that rises above most others in their life. And for Cari and Eli, I have no doubt it’s the same. But this particular wedding was exceptionally special for reasons more personal to me. This was the 100th wedding I have had the pleasure of photographing. It’s a big number and a number that a few years ago seemed astronomically far away, but I have been blessed by many fabulous couples that have chosen me to document their very special day. Thank you to Cari and Eli and the 99 other couples that have been inspired enough by my work to make it possible for me to do this for a living.

That said, one of those 100 fabulous couples were Cari and Eli and photographing their wedding was an incredible experience. They, their families, and their friends are some of the most happy and expressive people I have had the pleasure of working with. Toss in the fact that they gave me a ton of time for portraits, the wedding was on July 3rd and Wild Water Adventures was firing fireworks that could be seen from Wolf Lakes, they had one of my absolute favorite DJ’s (Tyrone from Party DJ Party), and we had a recipe for an outstanding wedding! A couple of extra special touches for the guests included carafes of milk at each table (Cari’s dad is a Dairy Man – buy Real California Cheese, he has another single daughter!) and the huge box of fine cigars for anyone that cared to partake.

Bethany + Josh – A Wolf Lakes Wedding

I had the pleasure of photographing Bethany and Josh’s wedding a couple weeks ago on a beautiful May afternoon. Bethany left nothing out, and had so many great details, from a Candy Bar, to a Coffee Bar (hosted by Planet Java), to 3 (yeah, 3!!!) gorgeous cakes, to massive crystal “diamonds” scattered all around. It was visual feast for sure. Add in a truly spectacular couple with an fabulous sense of humor and it makes for a fantastic day. Between Bethany, Josh, and Bethany’s parents it was nearly a constant joke fest!
